Thank you Marcela for the genius advice that we should put the 3D-printed plate underneath the plants! The roots do take shape in this way!!
Plate made with …
Array
I experimented with array in late March. Because I was traveling, my partner Korrina helped me with the printing.

Paneling Tools
This is a part of the assignment for week 10, we learned/ reviewed the paneling tools together
I mainly used ptPanelGridCustomVariable, and select the hexagon I created as the variable
ptGridSurfaceDomainNumber

I struggled A WHOLE SUNDAY to figure out how to print on the fabric ; ; The top one encountered a huge error because the filament wasn’t of high quality. But they look cute. They look like pic frames (trying my best to stay positive) It was actually better to put a bit glue on the printing plate (I promise I cleaned afterwards!!
The bottom ones, I used ultimaker to print. It took SO long. In the printing process, I realized that double sided type could affect the printing quality.
(by the way, thank you Korrina for making the model!!)
Yes I used grasshopper this time because I was very unsure about the sizings. Using grasshopper makes it easier to change the parameters.
I do have to break them into separate pieces to print because it would require a lot of support to print the bobbin as a whole.
